Why do I need this medicine?
Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium bromide are combined in this medicine.

Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide is used together with other medicines to treat stomach ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome (a disorder affecting the large bowel characterised by stomach cramps, pain, bloating, diarrhoea or constipation).

This medicine improves certain stomach or bowel condition by relieving anxiety and reducing digestive secretion.

This medicine may be used to treat other conditions as decided by your doctor.
How do I take this medicine?
Take Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Take it on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before meals and at bedtime. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking it suddenly as this may worsen your condition.
What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have the following conditions:
  • increased pressure in the eye
  • muscle weakness disorder
  • diseases that cause obstruction in the bowels
  • inflammation of the large intestines
  • prostate enlargement or blockage in the bladder
as Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide may not be suitable for you.
What should I take note of while taking this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
  • history of drug or alcohol abuse
  • depression
  • heart disease
  • lung disease
  • kidney disease
  • liver disease
  • physically or mentally weak due to an illness
Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide to the elderly. Elderly people may be more sensitive to the side effects.

This medicine may affect the ability of your body to adjust to temperature changes in the environment. Avoid exposure to very cold or very hot environments. Avoid strenuous exercise and activities like going to the sauna. Drink more water to prevent dehydration.

For as long as you are taking this medicine, you may need to have regular blood tests to check your body’s response to the medicine. Your doctor will advise you about how often you need to have blood tests.
What side effects could I experience?
Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide may cause drowsiness or blurred vision. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert or need to see clearly.

Other side effects include any of the following: constipation, nausea, dry mouth, problems urinating, irregular menstruation, increased or decreased libido, skin eruption and swelling in the hands, feet or legs.

Some side effects may need immediate medical help. Alert your doctor quickly if you experience any of the following:
  • aggression or aggressive behaviour
  • signs of withdrawal symptoms such as fits or seizures, tremor, stomach and muscle cramps, sweating, difficulty sleeping
  • sores in the mouth or throat, fever, chills
This medicine may also cause abnormal activities during sleep, such as driving, cooking, eating and walking while you are still asleep. Alert your doctor quickly if this happens.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I take this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
  • strong painkillers e.g. morphine, fentanyl
  • medicines that can cause drowsiness or affect your concentration e.g. alprazolam
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol. Alcohol intake may worsen the drowsiness caused by Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium bromide.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Protect from light.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
